Valerie Jo Patterson

Valerie Jo Patterson, 66, passed away suddenly at her home in Mokena, IL on March 19, 2018. She was a resident of Mokena for many years and had lived previously in Minnesota and Utah.

Valerie was born on August 6, 1951 in Great Falls, Montana, the daughter of Donald and Jane Patterson.

She grew up in Clearfield, Utah and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1969. She worked as an air traffic controller for several years in Utah after high school. She later went to work for BP Amoco where she retired from in 2009.

Her interests included traveling, music, spending time with family and friends and following her favorite band, Journey.

Survivors include her sister, Vicki Coletti and husband, Dan, of Rock Springs, WY; sister-in-law ,Michelle Patterson of Clearfield, UT;  niece, Carla Veesart and husband, Brian of Rock Springs, WY; nephews: Joseph Coletti of Granger, IN; Zack Patterson and wife, Summer, of Ogden, UT and Brody Patterson of Clearfield, UT; and several cousins and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Tom Patterson.

A family and friends gathering will be held from 2-4 pm, Friday, June 22, 2018 at Aaron’s Mortuary, 1050 S State Street, Clearfield, UT.  Service from 2-3 pm with Graveside service at 3:15 pm in the Clearfield City Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Carcinoid Cancer Research Organization by going to www.carcinoid.org and click on the “donate now” link.
