Velta "Vel" Hestand

Vel Hestand, 74, of Humansville, Missouri went to join her Father, Theodore Spoor; her Mother, Martha Spoor and son Robert H.D. Norris in Heaven on Saturday, April 23, 2016.

Vel was born June 1, 1941 in Humansville, MO; moved to Lincoln, CA at the age of six; stayed in the California area until 1977.  She then moved herself and husband, Max Hernandez with their five children to Nampa, ID.

She tried to retire in Springfield, MO where the tornados influenced her to change plans and retire in Ogden, UT.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Max Hernandez; her two sons, Ricky Norris and Johnny Hestand; her two daughters, Rene Van Dusen and Bridget Fairless; step-son, Felix Hernandez and step-daughter, Renate Hernandez; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Vel has so many friends and family who will miss her dearly. 

She was the best woman, mother and friend anyone could ever ask for.  If I could be half as good as she was, MAN would I be something else.

Memorial  Services will be held at 6:00 pm , Saturday, May 7,  2016 at the Potter's House, 2873 Quincy Ave, Ogden, Utah.  84403
