Veronica Jean-Marie Garcia
December 7, 1971-December 4, 2015
Veronica Jean-Marie Garcia passed away December 4, 2015 at her home. She was born December 7, 1971 to Tommy D. and Loretta A. Garcia, one of four children. She graduated from St. Joseph High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s from Weber State College and continued on to get her Masters Degree.
She proudly acknowledges that her greatest accomplishment in life was the creation of her son Mack, the light of her life. Together with Danny Parker, they instilled in him, a strong work ethic at a young age, appreciation for art, and compassion for helping others.
She worked as an Equipment Specialist Instructor for Hill Air Force Base.
Her supervisor gave these kind words: “Veronica was well known throughout the Air Force Community as a beautiful soul inside and out. She was known not only as a devoted and intelligent class room instructor, but we all loved her bubbly personality, her kindness, and compassion for others. Veronica was always looking out for others’ needs in the work place and beyond. She was a light in this world to helping so many students, fellow co-workers, leaders, teammates, and in supporting our war fighter overall. Her stunning smile will be imprinted forever in our hearts and minds.”
She was an avid gym rat and runner and very conscious of her health and appearance. She competed and finished two marathons and was most proud that she finished the Oregon Marathon in a respectable time with her son, brother Luke and parents cheering enthusiastically on the sidelines. She was a great cook and loved getting the family together to try out her new recipes. She had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She was beautiful and looked younger than her 44 years. When she smiled she would light up a room. She will be greatly missed by all.
Veronica is survived by her son: Mackenzie Daniel Parker; her soul mate and best friend, Danny Parker; her parents: Tommy and Loretta Garcia; her brothers: Drew (Monica) Garcia, Marc (Jennifer) Garcia, and Luke Garcia. She is also survived by her three beautiful nieces: Alexa, Malena, and Gabriella. And last but not least, she leaves behind two little heart broken Yorkies, Benny and Joon, waiting not so patiently at the door, wondering when she’ll be home.
There will be a memorial Thursday, December 10, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m., with a recitation of the Rosary starting at 7 p.m., held at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th Street, Ogden, Utah.
