Viola M. (Gonzales) Gabaldon, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend and sister of Hooper, Utah, passed away on March 2, 2025, after a courageous battle with an illness.
Born on September 27, 1941, Viola was the fifth child of Jose Encarnacion (Chon) Gonzales and Mary Caroline Vigil Gonzales.
Viola graduated from Davis High School and Weber State University. She had a fulfilling career at Hill Air Force Base, where she retired.
Viola was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and loved ones.
Her kindness, generosity, and warm smile touched countless hearts.
Viola is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Toby Gabaldon; their son, Christopher (Jayme) Gabaldon; and her Stepson, Toby Jr. (Mandy) Gabaldon. She felt that Heidi (Robert) Ramsdell was her adopted daughter. Viola had 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Brothers, Joseph Robert Gonzales and Julian Gonzales; sisters, Mary (Ida) G. Martinez and Belinda Olague Gonzales Pierce.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Jose Encarnacion (Chon) Gonzales and Mary Caroline Vigil Gonzales; brothers: Juan (Johnnie) Gonzales, Richard Gilbert Gonzales, and Ernest (Ernie) Gonzales; sisters: Dora Lucy Martinez, Eugenia Virginia Olague, and Mary Esther Brems.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, 4050 S. 3900 W., West Haven, Utah. Inurnment following Mass, Clearfield City Cemetery, 1050 State Street, Clearfield, Utah. Food will be served for family and friends at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church following the inurnment.
