Virginia Blunk

July 10, 1923 — January 6, 2013

CLEARFIED, UT - Marian Virginia Blunk 89, died January 6, 2013 from congestive heart failure. Virginia was born in July 1923 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Lillie Caldwell and Frank L. Travis. In October 1940 she married James E. Cowperthwaite. They were later divorced. From this union they had two lovely daughters, Joyce and Linda. In June 1956 Virginia married Dale O. Blunk. They were happily married for 30 years before Dale passed away in August 1986. Virginia had worked at Hill Air Force Base as a personnel clerk and retired in 1974. She also was an active member of the Washington Heights Baptist Church. Surviving are her two daughters, Joyce (Claude) Andrews, Riverdale UT; Linda (David) Armstrong, Boynton Beach, FL; and one step daughter Barbara Berkenpas, Roy, UT; one brother Bill F. (Cleo) Travis, Ogden, UT; three sisters, Marybell East, Riverdale, UT; June (Jess) Decaria, Riverdale, UT; and Norma Jean (Clyde) George, Clearfield, UT; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by three sisters, Grace Irene Travis, Nellie Winder and Mildred Heston. Virginia's family has always had a special closeness. The sisters have had a unique bond having done things with and for each other their whole lifetime. Friends and family are welcome to attend a celebration of her life at the Washington Heights Baptist Church, 1770 E 6200 S, Ogden, Ut on 14 January 2013 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Missions Ministry of Washington Heights Baptist Church. Inurnment at Lindquist Washington Heights Memorial Park at a later date. Cremation by Aaron's Mortuary.
