William E. Clements Jr. "Bill", age 88, passed away on December 10, 2013 at his home in Salt Lake City. Bill was born in Ogden, Utah on April 9, 1925. He was the son of William E. Clements and Ruth Junk Clements.
Bill's early life was spent growing up in Ogden. After graduating from Ogden High School, he served his country in World War II on the island of Okinawa until 1946 when he was honorably discharged. He returned to Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah where he earned his electrical engineering degree.
In 1950 he went to work for Utah Power & Light Company, rising up to become general manager of the transmission and distribution division for the entire Rocky Mountain area.
Bill was married on May 19, 1962 to Donna Blaes Clements and had two children, William E. "Billy" Clements, III (Juele) Salt Lake City and Carol Ann Williams (Gregory) Seattle, WA and three grandchildren.
After over 30 years of service with UP&L, Bill entered retired life where he enjoyed traveling, photography, keeping his mind exercised and entertaining his family and relatives with his magnificent piano playing skills and incredible wit. Bill eventually became a resident at Sunrise Senior Living in 2013.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his wonderful wife of 42 years and his sister Delores (Susie).
His family would especially like to thank the staff at Sunrise Senior Living for making this past year for Bill so special and to Inspiration Hospice for helping him through his final days. He was gracious, a true gentleman, always there for his family, and beloved by everyone whose life he touched.
Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, December 16, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at in Ogden, Utah at 10:00 a.m. Holy Rosary will be recited at 9:40 a.m. in the church prior to the Mass. Friends may call at Aaron's Mortuary in Ogden prior to the Mass from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. Interment will be at Aultorest Memorial Park in Ogden, Utah.
