William Lee Fischmann

William Lee Fischmann, a devoted family man, Army veteran, and hard-working professional, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, at the age of 80 in Clearfield, UT. Born on June 25, 1944, in Akron, Ohio. William lived a life full of love, humor, and service.

William proudly served his country as a member of the 6th Special Forces Airborne as an Airborne Instructor, demonstrating extraordinary knowledge and commitment to his unit. His time in the military forged great memories that he loved to share. His upbringing with an entrepreneur father and his Army days built a foundation of resilience and discipline that carried him through his life.

After his military service, William began his career in distribution before finding his true calling as a Respiratory Therapist at the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City. His work with veterans gave him immense fulfillment, allowing him to form deep and lasting friendships with colleagues and patients alike.

William was a loving husband to his beloved Anita Fischmann, with whom he shared countless memories until her passing 18 years ago. Together, they enjoyed trips to Wendover, Las Vegas, and Mexico where they created treasured moments.

He was a devoted family man and is survived by his sister Linda and his children Saundra, Shirley, Cody, Mitchell, and Mark. He also cherished his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will remember him fondly for his warmth and humor.

Outside of work and family, William had a zest for life. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing softball, bowling, gambling and golfing. These hobbies brought him joy and countless friendships over the years.

William’s unwavering dedication to his wife, his family, and his work will be forever remembered. His humor, stories, love for books and history will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Rest in peace, William Lee Fischmann. You will be deeply missed and always loved
