William Luke Winward
Our beloved husband, father, son, grandson, and brother, William Luke Winward, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015. He was born March 2, 1988, in Ogden, Utah, to Jay Mark Winward and Ray Lynn Lamb Winward.
He grew up in Farr West, attended Farr West Elementary, Wahlquist Jr. High, and graduated from Fremont High School in Plain City in 2006. He enjoyed the cowboy life style and loved hunting and fishing. He was involved in the Ogden Gun Club where he enjoyed trap shooting. With his team, he won six state titles which entitled him to compete on the national level for six consecutive years.
He lived in his wranglers and cowboy hat and was a quiet, shy, humble, hard working guy who loved the outdoors. He was a devoted family man who treasured his family and was an incredible father to his beloved boys. He was always willing to help out his loved ones, his extended family, his friends, and especially his Lamb grandparents.
On September 14, 2012, Luke married Kami Hall in Layton, Utah. They made their home in Farr West where they were blessed with two beautiful sons. Luke’s greatest blessing in life came from being a father to Hagen Luke and Canyan Keith Winward. He devoted his life to serving them.
During his growing up years, Luke worked at Cedarcrest Farm in Roy with his father. He was currently employed as a refrigeration tech for Uintah Refrigeration and Electrical, which is based in Farmington.
Luke is survived by his wife, his sons, his parents Jay Winward (Gina) and Ray Lynn Winward (Dan Bond), his sister Lacie Jae Call, his brother, Jake Densley Winward, his niece Denzlie Call, his nephew Hudson Boone Call, his grandmother Vicki Lamb, his in-laws Chris and Lori Johnson and Rick and Cami Hall. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Luke was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Ray Lamb and Frank and Barbara Winward and his great grandparents, Gerald Thomas and Clara Taylor and Evan Morse.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 o’clock on Saturday, December 19, at the LDS Church located at 2123 N. 2000 W. in Farr West. Family and friends may gather Friday evening at the church from 6:00 to 8:00 and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 prior to the service. Interment at the West Weber Cemetery.
