Yvonne Marie Cordova
July 4, 1956- March 26, 2017
Yvonne Cordova passed away peacefully on Sunday, surrounded by her family. Yvonne was a lifetime resident of Clearfield and Syracuse and a graduate of Clearfield High School and Weber State University. She worked as a special education teacher in Davis County for 36 years with most of those years spent at South Weber Elementary School. Upon retirement, she was able to pursue her favorite hobbies of traveling and reading. She was a world traveler and and collector of artifacts. From the pyramids of Egypt to the sandy beaches of Mexico, there were few places she had not visited. An avid reader, you could seldom find her without a book in her hands and several more waiting in the wings.
A devoted sister and aunt, she is survived by her sister, Patricia (Cordova) Alvarez, her niece Amanda (Alvarez) Foley, her nephew Gillian Andrew Alvarez, and her beloved great nephew and nieces: Nicholas Alvarez, Lillian Foley, Marian Foley and Catherine Yvonne Foley.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Nick Cordova and Isabel Lujan Cordova.
A viewing will take place Tuesday, March 28, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm with Holy Rosary at 7:30 pm at Aaron's Mortuary, 1050 S State Street, Clearfield, UT. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 S Chapel Street, Layton, Utah..
